London Forklift Instructor Training - For those lift truck operators who wish to become a forklift instructor it is suggested that they finish a forklift Instructor training certification program. Entry qualifications for the forklift instructor training requires the forklift operator to have extensive knowledge regarding lift truck machines and skills driving forklifts. Instructor training usually is held at an equipment sales facility or at the campus of a junior college, community college, or vocational or technical school. Forklift manufacturing companies sometimes offer train the trainer, practical, hands-on programs.

Whether provided in a classroom setting or at a manufacturing company facility, registering for the course would involve paying a tuition fee, and buying manuals, book or other materials. Program length differs depending on the course. Participants usually must have satisfactory demonstration, test scores and participation throughout the course to qualify for trainer certification.

It is assumed that the trainee taking the instructor program will have prior experience utilizing forklifts. The topics of ethics, teaching techniques, safety issues and curriculum design will be the primary focus during the instructor training course. Participants will learn how to demonstrate to their students different aspects of lift truck operation, like for example stacking and moving materials or navigating the forklift in narrow aisles. Those participating will learn how to assess student's written exams and demonstrations of their forklift operating skills. The program objective is to be able to prepare trainers to be able to design and execute their own forklift training programs.

Some self-study of the machinery and manuals is needed. Trainers would be expected to make their own curriculum, which meets regulation guidelines when it comes to topics presented, such as Operation and Safety. For example, the subject of Safety must comprise an understanding of how to identify potential dangers. The subject of Operation consists of instruction regarding steering and maneuvering, connecting and using and instruments and controls of the fork.
